Some great racing by some of the club's youngsters tonight in Chepstow, especially Erica Gauler who was brilliant in the U8/U10 race and smiled all the way around! In the U12 race Will Bevan and Thomas Crapper were both excellent and really showed up some of the more experienced racers, but unfortunately Aled Trott was not his usual determined self! In the U14/U16 race Megan James finished 3rd girl overall, but 2nd U14.
BEN CARROLL MEMORIAL ROAD RACE: E/1/2/3 [75 miles] & 3/4 [59 miles]: SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH @ REYNOLDSTON, GOWER
Can't believe that there is threat of this being cancelled due to low numbers - especially as it is set to be one of the best end of season road races on the calendar! Two races available to cater for range of experience/fitness!
If you are thinking of entering get your entry in asap! There is an online option so it only takes two-minutes! No excuses guys - lets keep our road racing or organisers will not bother in future!
If you are part of a club - put the word out and get a team entered! Should be a great event to put your summer fitness to the test and give your ride training some proper focus!
The entry link is on the British Cycling Website - as below:
Just a quick reminder about the ACG social ride up to Llanthony, to the annual Llanthony Show, this Saturday. I’m leading the ride, we meet at the Fig Tree Espresso on Nevill Street in Abergavenny at 11am, it’s 10 miles up and 10 miles back. Plenty to see and do, eat and drink, at the Show, including hedge laying, stone walling, the Open Dog Race and of course the famous Mountain Pony Rodeo:
(entry to the show is £5).
This will be a family friendly ride, though note that it’s all on roads and some of them may be busier than normal because of people coming by car to the show. But we’ll all ride together and be very safe and visible to other road users.
Let me know if you’re planning to come, or just turn up on the day.
