Paul is a top sport

Abergavenny Road Club’s Paul Crapper was awarded Community Coach of the Year at the Wales Sport Awards.

Crapper, who won the award for his work as a volunteer, specialises in mountain biking and cyclo-cross, and has inspired hundreds of people to take up cycling in Monmouthshire. Every week he runs beginners, women-only and youth Go-Ride club sessions in Abergavenny.

Crapper explained, “It’s really rewarding to see the progression that a cyclist makes – whether they’re older, younger, male or female. It’s the confidence you see starting to build. It’s really all about getting bums on bikes for life!”

Paul was presented with his award by double Olympic silver medallist (and fellow Abergavenny Road Club member) Becky James.
