Mountain Mayhem 24 hour 2009

Postby neilc on Mon Jun 22, 2009 9:45 pm

Just about recovered from a wild weekend up at Ludlow Castle, fantastic course with some savage climbs, super-fast rocky descents and lovely flowing singetrack. I managed to get a late entry with a team from Brecon in the 4-rider mens sport category. After a week of feeling slightly dodgy (stiff back and a bit of a cold - as a result of that Jean Baker crash! Useful excuses to have in the back pocket for the start line ;-).
Had a blast, saw Tim there (strolled on by like he wasn't trying up one of the aforementioned savage climbs, grrrrr!).
Loads of M&D riders there, and a CC boy - Joe Lally (he was on my team but I made sure I didn't talk to him). Definitely have to get a proper job RC team together next year...

Neil - that was George who passed you not me. I'm reckoning on an Aber RC team next year as well, sounds a great event.

You're right, and I'm rubbish at remembering names! I even spoke to George on the start line which should have given away his real identity. I blame it on lack of sleep.

George Tim Tim George Tim George George Tim, I'll get there one day. It's taken me 2 years to get the names of 2 pairs of twins in my class right (and one pair arn't even identical), and this week all that has gone wrong too. There's definitely something wrong with the way I'm wired up.

Sorry!
