Abergavenny RC is a rapidly expanding club. You may pass a fellow member on the road or trails, give a nod of recognition to the jersey but not have a clue about the individual wearing it. Here, we introduce a club member and ask them a few probing questions.

Number of years riding?
14 years. I originally started riding as a teenager with the Blackburn and District CTC. I then lapsed for a few years until my late twenties when I restarted - first mountain biking, then road.
Favourite discipline?
Road and Sportives.
What do you like about cycling?
Freedom, exploring the countryside, the feeling of elation, climbing -I could go on!
Best cycling moment?
Climbing the Tre Cime Di Lavaredo in the Dolomites (near Cortina) in 2007. It was a mountain top finish in the Giro D'Italia the year Danilo Di Luca won. I did it drug free and it was extremely steep and difficult.
Favourite music?
Nick Cave, ludovico einaudi, Travis.
Favourite food and drink?
Good Italian food with red or white wine. Belgian beer and short espresso. (obviously not all at the same time).
