Abergavenny RC is a rapidly expanding club. You may pass a fellow member on the road or trails, give a nod of recognition to the jersey but not have a clue about the individual wearing it. Here, we introduce a club member and ask them a few probing questions.

Number of years riding?
46. I started long bike rides in 1963 and started racing in 1964.
Favourite discipline?
I've enjoyed several forms of cycling, even commuting by bike! But time trials are my favourite.
What do you like about cycling?
I get a great buzz out from riding nearly every time I go out on my bike.
Best cycling moment?
Poole Wheelers 12 hour time trial in August, 1970. Everything came together on the day – my training had been ideal, good form, great back-up team and glorious weather.
Favourite music?
Klemperer conducting Beethoven. du Pre playing Dvorak. Chopin Nocturnes.
Favourite food and drink?
Jill's (my wife) cooking.
