Abergavenny RC is a rapidly expanding club. You may pass a fellow member on the road or trails, give a nod of recognition to the jersey but not have a clue about the individual wearing it. Here, we introduce a club member and ask them a few probing questions.

Number of years riding?
7. (Started in 2002, just after I'd turned 40 yrs old. Had a bike when I was a kid, my Dad & Mum were both road riders with Manchester Victoria Wheelers. When I started taking track & field athletics seriously, around 14-15yrs old, I stopped riding a bike, wrong muscles and all that - I was a junior international 100m runner.)
Favourite discipline?
Mountain biking.
What do you like about cycling?
Getting to the physical limits in an off-road enduro (100km) race & still being able to ride hard.
Best cycling moment?
Winning the British National Marathon (100km) Vets title in 2007. Although, the final two stages of this year's Trans-Rockies came close, esepcially crossing the finish line on the final stage in 2nd place.
Favourite music?
Snow Patrol.
Favourite food and drink?
Decaff latte & grilled fish.
