Time Trials
11/06/08 Course update:
Change due to roadworks on Usk/Monmouth course R25/7. The Abergavenny RC Club 25 mile champs will now take place on the Pandy course, R25/16 (meet S of Llanvihangel Crucorny OS Ref SO322199) with the start at 7.30pm, on Thursday, 12th June. This is the course that we had originally intended to use, and we are able to use it tomorrow evening, as roadworks have not started on the A40 yet.
15/05/08 Course update:
Road works are due to start on the A40 between Hardwicke roundabout and Raglan on 27th May. This will mean that the courses that we use for the evening time trials will have to changed.
- The course for the 10 mile TT will change to the R10/12.
- The three 15s on the 26th June, 24th July and 7th Aug will change to be 10's on the R10/12.
- For the two 25's on the 29th May and 12th June the course will be the R25/7.
Assemble point for the 25's to be the lay-by half way up the Gwelog hill on the Usk side for the 25. For the 10 the assembly point will be the cul-de-sac just before the Raglan Roundabout on the Old Raglan road. See the documents below for full details of the new courses:
Appendum:
Further to the above, the R10/12 course will only be used on the 10's on evenings when Abergavenny RC is carrying out the timekeeping, that is 26th June, 10th July, 24th July, 7th August, 21st August.
On the 5th June, 19th June, 3rd July, 19th July, 31st July and 14th August CC Abergavenny is carrying out the timekeeping and is using a different course, which is as follows:
- assemble at The Hardwicke pub
- start is the drain cover on the B4598 3 miles from Hardwicke Roundabout in Junction 100yds from A40 overbridge
- proceed to Raglan to turn in dead road 10yds before Raglan Rounabout
- return towards Abergavenny to finish 100yds past start in lane to farm
Thursday evening time trials begin on 3rd April 2008. Please refer to the 2008 event schedule for dates and distances. Your attention is also drawn to the Cycling Time Trials (CTT) rider safety sheet.
Note1: all riders under 18 years of age must complete and present to the timekeeper a CTT parental consent form. Racing will not be permitted otherwise.
Note2: non club members of Abergavenny RC or CC Abergavenny (including those who have not paid their subs) will be charged a fee of £1.00 for each event.
Information for timekeepers: As in previous years, the timekeeping schedule will be organised on alternate weeks with CC Abergavenny.
